The general rule of thumb is 5. A vessel 20-30ft is able to work with 4 as it is small enough to have all areas covered with less. Vessels 30-50ft should have 5-6 and. Vessels larger than this should consider 8 or more to ensure full coverage. Vessels with sails should consider adding a camera on the mast!
1 camera should be placed front facing, 1 camera should be placed rear facing covering the propeller and rudder, 1 to port and 1 to starboard, 1 midship facing down to connect them all together.
Our cameras come inside of a special designed and modified housing to ensure a constant watertight seal, and optimal clarity for the lens. A small hole will need to be drilled though the hull to feed the cable. Water should not pass through due to the camera housing; however, it should be sealed after installation incase an accident occurs, to prevent leakage
The ethernet cables inside the packaging are only 1m long. For a permanent setup, longer cords will be needed. Cat6 PoE capable cords are recommended. PoE ports can be used to simplify wiring. Make sure to it is a supportable cord!
